In 1999, SOLMETEX™ designed the Hg5 AMALGAM Separator, which quickly became the gold standard in AMALGAM separation.
SOLMETEX has extensive experience in the elds of water chemistry, process engineering and chemical separation science. Our comprehensive product line provides all the necessary components to meet or exceed the current requirements of the EPA “Dental Rule”. Today, SOLMETEX is proud to be the industry leader and manufacturer of the NXT Hg5 series of AMALGAM SEPARATORS and proud to celebrate 25+ years in the industry.
- Contains one (1) NXT Hg5 Collection Container and recycling materials.
- Only compatible with the NXT Hg5 AMALGAM Separator.
- Collection container must be replaced when solids reach the full line or every 12 months, whichever occurs first.
The terms "lead bucket" and "collection chamber" in the context of a dental AMALGAM separator system like SOLMETEX refer to different SYSTEMS with specific functions:
Lead Bucket:
This term is sometimes informally used to describe a component of the AMALGAM separator system.but works ABSOLUTELY DEPARATED FROM AMALGAM SEPARATOR. IT IS NOT CONNECTED TO THE SEPARATOR
It refers to a container that holds and collects heavier materials, possibly including lead, but more commonly AMALGAM Waste which contains mercury and other metals.
The primary purpose is to safely contain hazardous materials until they can be properly disposed of, in compliance with environmental regulations.
Collection Chamber:
This is a component of the AMALGAM separator system designed to capture and temporarily hold the AMALGAM particles and other debris.
It's a part of the filtration process where the debris is separated from the wastewater.
The collection chamber is usually located ( used ) before the lead bucket ( or final containment component) , playing a critical role in the initial phase of separation.
After the collection chamber is filled, you have 2 options :
1 ) Buy a new collection chamber and send back to SOLMETEX the old one ( filled ) to be safely disposed
2) Empty the collection chamber in the a bigger lead bucket and later on after several loops, dispose the bucket safely
The existence of a LEAD BUCKET is a legal obligation in EACH CHAIR
In the SOLMETEX system, these components work together to efficiently and safely separate AMALGAM Waste from the wastewater produced during dental procedures. The collection chamber serves as the initial collection point, while the "lead bucket" or its equivalent is where the Waste is ultimately stored until Disposal.
