As the percentage of all-ceramic restorations continues to grow and the demand for aesthetic dentistry increases, SHOFU introduces ResiCem.
Modern framework materials, such as zirconia and alumina, require modified procedures, as well as appropriate instruments and tools, to work on and integrate all-ceramic restorations. Proper adhesive cementation is critical to the long-term clinical success of these highly aesthetic restorations.
ResiCem is an adhesive cementation system with outstanding physical properties for all types of framework and restorative materials.
WORRY-FREE ZIRCONIA BONDING
Designed Specially for Zirconia and Alumina
The AZ Primer has been exclusively developed for modern materials such as zirconia and alumina, and ensures outstanding bonding values between the restoration and the hard tooth structure. ResiCem has been shown in independent testing by Dr. Mark Latta, D.M.D., M.S. to provide distinctly superior bond strengths to zirconia.
The 6-MHPA monomer, specially adapted for high-performance porcelains, anchors itself permanently to the restoration and provides a consistently strong bond.
Customize to be Universal for All Materials
ResiCem can be expanded to become an all-purpose cementation system with the supplementary components that have been adapted to suit each class of material.
Use the Porcelain Primer for sintered and pressed porcelains and laboratory-made composite restorations. The tried and trusted ML Primer ensures secure bonding of precious and non-precious alloys.
Self-Conditioning and Fluoride Release
The laborious and demineralizing process of etching enamel and dentin is not required with ResiCem. After being mixed, the self-conditioning dental Primers A and B gently penetrate the microstructures of the enamel and dentin. ResiCem paste also contains PRG (pre-reacted glass) fillers that reliably release and recharge fluoride. They remineralize the natural hard tooth substance and offer enhanced protection from caries.
Bonding Zirconia and Alumina Restorations
The use of ResiCem requires only a few steps. The preparative treatment of the restoration depends on the type of material to be bonded.
1. Sandblast restoration with 50 – 100 µm alumina sand at approximately 0.2 – 0.3 MPa
2. Apply AZ Primer and leave undisturbed for 10 seconds
3. Mix equal parts of Primer A and B. Apply and leave undisturbed for 20 seconds
4. Air-dry with soft air stream
5. Apply ResiCem
6. Insert the restoration, remove excess material and light-cure
COMPELLINGLY SIMPLE
The film thickness of only 9 microns provides a very good margin fit with maximum bonding strength. The final position of the restoration is easily achieved without causing bite elevation.
The very small syringe tip improves direct application and minimizes excess Cement. The innovative double-push syringe ensures that the paste is always mixed precisely and automatically.
The consistency of the paste ensures simple application. Thanks to its stability, excess material can be easily removed without smearing or sticking.
