Description
ATTRITOR HP Scotch-Brite Polishers — ASSORTED 20pk is the complete four-grit POLISHING kit: 20 non-woven abrasive polishers pre-mounted on HP (laboratory straight-handpiece) mandrels, supplied in all four grit grades — COARSE, MEDIUM, FINE and MEDIUM FINE. One kit carries the entire POLISHING sequence for cast metal frameworks, acrylic-resin prosthetic surfaces and mixed-substrate restorations, so the bench never stops mid-sequence for a grade it does not have.
Every grade is colour-coded for instant identification at the lathe — dark rust-brown (Coarse), tan (Medium), light brown (Fine), green (Medium Fine) — and each is also stocked individually, so a grade that wears faster can be topped up on its own.

Abrasive matrix: dental-grade non-woven Scotch-Brite-class media — open-web nylon impregnated with abrasive grain.
Four abrasive grades in this kit: web density and grain size step down progressively COARSE → MEDIUM → FINE → MEDIUM FINE, so each grade removes the scratch pattern left by the one before it.
Mount: HP straight-handpiece mandrel, pre-assembled on all 20 pieces — no separate mandrel purchase.
Conformable contact patch: the web flexes to substrate contour instead of flattening anatomy — consistent across all four grades.
Operating Speed & Use Guidance
Recommended operating range: 5,000–12,000 RPM in an HP straight handpiece or bench lathe — the same range for all four grades.
Light pressure — the non-woven matrix polishes best when allowed to glide. Forcing it collapses the web and shortens the life of every grade.
Recommended four-step sequence — all grades supplied in this kit:
- COARSE — dark rust-brown, Mfg 01Mp25 — initial post-finish refinement; removes bur and stone marks from cast metal frameworks.
- MEDIUM — tan, Mfg 01My25 — general reduction of the scratch pattern left by the coarse pass.
- FINE — light brown, Mfg 01MS25 — pre-polish refinement; brings the surface up before compound.
- MEDIUM FINE — green, Mfg 01M22 — final satin pass; hand off to tripoli on a muslin buff for high shine.
Do not skip grades. Each is sized to remove the scratch depth of the previous one — jumping COARSE straight to MEDIUM FINE leaves a pattern the compound will not close. Having all four on the bench is the point of this kit.
